Detroit Institute of Arts

The DIA will be hosting a weekend of fun in celebration of their new exhibit, Watch Me Move. Kids can make their own flip books and design their own animation. Starting at noon on Saturday and running until the end of the con.

Robotech Tour

Detroit Fanfare is proud to be one of the stops on the Official Robotech Tour. Get insightful information about what’s going on with Robotech now plus some free prizes. Programming listed with Panels.

Cosplay Photo Ops

Cosplayers! We have provided great a number of photo-op stations on the convention floor where cosplayers can meet including the large, Cosplay Central.

SILENT Auction

A chance to own valuable and unique art pieces from the talented creators attending the show. At the end of the show Sunday, a live auction will announce the winners and provide more items. Starting at noon on Saturday and running until 4:30 on Sunday.

Robotech® RPG Tactics™ “full scale” demos

Running every half hour in the Palladium game room from 10:00 am till 4:30 pm with game designer Carmen Bellaire. Also, demos will take place at the Palladium booth all weekend. (Bazaar)

Official Convention Party

Everyone is invited and will bring creators, fans, vendors, and everyone else together for a celebration. Starting at 9:00 on Saturday in the Marquis Ballroom. Join our DJs for a great get-together with a costume contest taking place also. Ticketed event. Cash bar. Marquis Ballroom.

Palladium Role Playing

Throughout the weekend, enjoy role playing some of the best games that Palladium Books has to offer. A dedicated room (Desoto) houses the various games so check the schedule there.

Superhero Parkour

Join the Downriver Gymnastics team as they show an exhibit of parkour with a superhero bent. Parkour is an expressional type of movement using motion to combat obstacles. Time and location for the activity to be announced at the show.

Fantastic Raffle

Throughout the con, there will be a raffle of items donated by creators and publishers. Tickets are cheap and there will be multiple winners on each drawing. You get to pick your prize!

Blood 4 Comics

Working with the American Red Cross Detroit Chapter, fans and collectors can donate blood and receive a hefty pile of free comics. In the Bistro.

SUNDAY IS KIDS DAY!

Throughout the convention hours, there will be special programming but Sunday will have even more with and a costume contest and Trick or Treating at noon on Sunday.

Zombie Walk

The annual Detroit Fanfare Zombie Walk, you can join the undead!! This event will launch our first day of festivities on Friday. Bazaar Stage at 9:00 pm. Registration starts at 7:00 pm.

Deadworld Zombie After Party

Zombies, music, alcohol, zombies, costume contests, free stuff, and more zombies! Prizes for the costume contests. Free admission, cash bar. Starts at 9:00 pm at the Pool Terrace.

Shel Dorf Awards

Announcing the winners of the Official Shel Dorf Industry Awards. Join some of comics’ top talents as winners and presenters. This is a ticketed event. Starts at 10:00 pm in the Marquis Ballroom.

Preview Party

Live music from the Dan Dougherty and the Tone Bone who will perform music live for the After Party at the conclusion of the Shel Dorf Awards. Appx. 11:00 pm in the Marquis Ballroom.

Detroit FanFare Costume Contests

Prizes awarded! On Friday night is the Deadworld Zombie Contest, Saturday afternoon houses the Convention Costume Contest, Saturday night is the Adult Costume Contest during the Official Con Party, and Sunday morning is the Kid’s Costume Contest. Registration and more specifics at the Bazaar Registration.

Compound Fracture Preview

Join producers and writers, Renae Geerlings and Tyler Mane with co-star and nemesis , Derek Mears, for a special sneak preview of their independent movie, “Compound Fracture”. In addition they will be on hand for some special events and questions and answers. Saturday night, starting at 7:30 pm at the Bazaar Stage. Ticketed event.

Speed Painting by Dave Santia

Come see Speed Painter by sensational artist, Dave Santia. Dave will amaze you with his brilliant paintings done in just minutes. Each will take place at the Bazaar Stage. Saturday at 10:30 am, 3:00 pm, and 4:30 pm. Sunday at 12:15 pm and at 4:30 pm. Dave’s paintings will be at the auction starting right after he finishes his last piece.

Sci-Fi Speed Dating

You’ve heard about it on the web! You watched in on TLC… Now, the crew of Sci-Fi Speed Dating, and stars of the TLC show Geek Love, are returning to Detroit Fanfare. In the Marquis Ballroom, Saturday at 1:00 pm and Sunday at 4:00 pm. Registration at Bazaar Registration.

Rocky Horror Participation Viewing

The cult classic will get a midnight screening by the Michigan Theatre Players shadowcasting Rocky Horror Saturday at midnight. Bazaar Stage. Ticketed event.

Princess Fairy Training Camp

You have your wand, wings, and tutu, but do you know all of the moves to earn your tiara? Our training camp will show you the tricks to make you the special Fairy Princess we that you already are. On the Bazaar Stage, 1:30 Sunday. Register by 1:00 at the Bazaar Registration table. Sponsored by Downriver Gymnastics.

The 99, an action hero group that has crossed over with DC’s Justice League has its own successful TV animated series. Here is your chance to see an unaired episode! Shown at the Bazaar Stage on Friday at 11:00 pm and Saturday at 6:30 pm. Free event.

Little Shop of Horrors Sing-a-long

Not just a screening of the classic film but the Michigan Theatre Players will lead a sing-a-long on Friday at Midnight at the Bazaar Stage. Ticketed event.

Live Auction

In addition to announcing the winners, noted artist Carl Lundgren will lead the Live Auction taking place around 4:30 pm at the Bazaar Stage. A chance to bid on some really great pieces!

Monster High School Ice Cream Social

A gathering of ghoul-friends with ice cream, special toppings and lots of gossip and snaps at every table. Join us for a frightfully good time. Marquis Ballroom at 3:30 pm Sunday. Register by 3:00 at the Bazaar Registration.
